Removing Breaks from Smart Formulas

Overview

In addition to calculating hours from start and end times, Smart Formulas can also be configured to remove breaks automatically.

Setup

In order to remove breaks, a type column must be provided in the data that indicates which lines are treated as breaks.

Smart formulas will then remove breaks from any lines that include them (or part of the break). This includes hour based allowances, minimum engagement and start/end based shifts.

To enable this feature:

Create Break mapping(s)
Enable Allow Types in Smart Formula Settings
Include and map the Type filed when importing your data

Create Break Mapping

Mappings are required to determine which lines will be considered breaks. Multiple mappings can be created if required.

To create a mapping:

Mapping Type: Type/ Earnings Rate
Xero Value: *BREAK*
File Value: Enter the exact text that will indicate a break - in the example below the value Break will be used (this is case sensitive).

Click** Save Mapping** to confirm.

Enable Allow Types

In order to select a type column when importing data, this option must be set.

Navigate to Smart Formulas, Then select Smart Formula Settings

In the Allow Types input, select Allow All Types and click Save.

Importing Data

In order to calculate breaks, the data imported must include a column that can be mapped to Type that will be used to map breaks. The column does not require values for non break columns, but it does for breaks.

Overview

UpSheets provides integrations with several popular 3rd party applications used for scheduling, time tracking and project management.

These integrations allow your data to be imported directly from the application without having to export/import a CSV file.

Once enabled, each integration lets you you provide a date range for the data and import it directly into UpSheets with with the click of a button.

UpSheets allows you to import data directly from Harvest to Xero Payroll.

Enable the Harvest Integration

Before importing your Harvest data and uploading it to Xero, you must first enable the Harvest Integration.

Importing

Once enabled, the Import screen will have a new Data Source for Harvest. When selected, your active Account and From/To dates will be displayed.

To import Data:

Select the From and To dates from which you wish to import data. All time data in Harvest will be imported for this range (including all data on the From and To dates).
